12-Fret Model(s)

All guitars can come in twelve or fourteen fret models. In fact, the OM and 000 guitars differ principally in this feature. The main differences between 12 and 14 fret guitars, besides playability because the 14's neck sticks farther out, are tonal. In the "X" braced guitar, the 14-fret neck places the bridge in the middle of [the vibrating part of] the face; this produces a vigorous and full sound. The 12-fret guitar bridge -- while looking to be in the middle -- is actually off-center; this produces a sweeter, more melodic sound. Neither is better; each has its appeal.
